Description

The Facility Assessment and Staff Competencies was introduced in November 2017. QSO-24-13-NH was distributed June 18, 2024 outlining several new requirements including inclusion of various stakeholders when formulating the assessment, utilizing data-driven methods to determine care needs, recognizing behavioral health needs and more.  

This session will give providers the tools and knowledge they need to ensure they are prepared for the August 8th deadline.   

Objectives:

1. Discuss the recent update to §483.71and all current and new Facility Assessment requirements.
2. Recognize approaches to assist with reviewing current Facility Assessment components as well as those being required August 8th.
3. Demonstrate insight into evidence-based/data driven resources and tools to assess resident population, acuity, staffing levels and competency.
4. Recognize methods of documenting your organization’s ability to meet resident care needs based on assessment findings and steps to develop a staffing recruitment and retention plan to meet these needs.
